I Read My Book and I Can Answer Some Questions.

At reading time we can read a book with Mrs Kerr and then we can look at the same book on the computer and we can do some activities with the letters and words.  It's called P.M. Readers.

"I have to put letters together and then I get a yellow dog and that means I got them all right.  I am good at reading at home and at school."

My Room 1 Writing.

"I am writing my story in Room 1.  I can look at my alphabet card and find some words like went and my, and I can copy these words into my book.  My stories are amazing!"

Self Portrait

We have been learning to make good colour choices.

First we drew a picture of our faces, then we chose colours to match our faces and coloured in our picture.  We then glued the face onto another piece of paper that we dyed the day before.  Next we coloured in a piece of paper for our hair and cut it out.  The last thing we did was glue the hair onto our picture.

"I found it tricky to put the hair on.  I liked cutting the hair out the best."

Maths

We are learning to make sets to ten.

"I have 6 yellow and 4 red counters.  I have 10 counters."

Storywriting

We have been learning to make our pictures match our story.

"This is my sister.  She is climbing on the rocks."

Reading Strategies

We have been learning to read new words by sounding out the first letter.

"This word is f-f-f- fast."
